Stabbing victim hospitalized with serious injuries

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Just after 3a.m., the Lubbock Police Department received a call that a male with a stab wound needed help in the 500 block of 40th Street.

Officers located the 31-year-old male with serious injuries, and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital.  After further investigation, it appears the male victim had gotten into a physical altercation with another male outside a residence in the 500 block of 40th Street. At some point during the altercation, the victim was stabbed. It appears both the victim and suspect left the area, however, the victim returned and police were called to the scene.

The suspect was not located.

This will be investigated as a domestic violence case by the LPD Family Crimes Unit.

    At about 5:20 a.m. the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on US Highway 70 around mile post 352 north of Roswell. The initial investigation indicated a 2004 Toyota 4-Runner was traveling west on US 70. For unknown reasons the Toyota left the roadway into the center median, over corrected and rolled.
