Child suffers serious injuries after being struck by car

LUBBOCK, Texas -

At approximately 5:37 p.m. Saturday, the Lubbock Police Department received multiple calls that a child had been struck by a vehicle on Avenue Q near 58th Street.

Based on information gathered at the scene, it appears a 12-year-old attempted to cross Avenue Q and was struck by a SUV traveling southbound.

The child was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
