Grass fire on US 84 impacting travel

Posted: Updated:

Crews are battling a grass fire near Wayne's on eastbound U.S. 84 near County Road 7260. This is just southeast of Lubbock, near Posey.

Use caution if driving through the area.

A photojournalist at the scene says vehicles are driving through the smoke and this could impact your ability to see.

There is a possibility the highway could be shut down while fire crews extinguish the fire.

It appears the fire started in an RV and spread to the surrounding grass.
