Warm and sunny today, cold and cloudy weekend

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Clear and chilly morning.As of 5:45 it's 38 in Lubbock, Southwest wind  around 10-15mph.

TODAY: Warming trend continues with highs in the mid to upper 70s, plenty of sunshine and a little breezy West/Northwest wind 10-16mph.

TONIGHT: Colder air begins to work into the area. Low near 25, East/Southeast wind 5-10.
WEEKEND: Staying colder with highs in the 30s-40s. Partly to mostly cloudy will help keep the temperatures down. There will be a chance for some light freezing drizzle to the Southeast and light snow to the Northwest early Sunday.
NEXT WEEK: Temperatures will climb to the 60s by Tuesday. Moisture will move back into the area late week with a slim chance for some much needed rain.
