Blankenship won't see re-election to Lubbock ISD school board

Posted: Updated:

Lubbock ISD Trustee Mark Blankenship will not run for re-election.

Blankenship has represented District 3 since 2013, originally appointed to the seat to replace Chris Comer, before winning election in May 2014.

He was named the state's "School Board Trustee of the Year" by the Texas Classroom Teachers' Association.

In a statement, Blankenship said he looks forward to working with new Superintendent Kathy Rollo until the end of his term, and he says it's been an honor to serve the district.
