THIS MORNING: It was another real cold start, down to 5 in Lubbock. Here are some lower readings in the area from the Texas Tech Mesonet:

We also had a few flurries mid-morning. Since then it's been sunny but only warmed into the upper 20s to lower 30s.

TONIGHT: Clear and cold, low near 15. Wind W/NW 5-10mph.

TOMORROW: Sunny and finally above freezing area-wide, high near 50. Wind NW/N 5-12mph shifting out of the south.

QUIET PATTERN: The high will again be close to 50 on Thursday. Then it finally goes back above the average high of 53, with 60s returning this weekend. A storm system passing north of our area will kick the wind up on Sunday, with the high back in the mid 60s.

No significant sign of rain or snow any time soon here.
