LUBBOCK, Texas -

"Biker Lives Matter" is the message family and friends of Michael Silva are hoping to send to all drivers.

Silva, 20, was critically injured Nov. 26 when he collided with a pickup on 82nd and Elgin.

A pickup was eastbound on 82nd, and as it attempted to turn north on Elgin, it struck the motorcycle traveling westbound.

LPD reported that it appears the truck driver did not see the motorcycle.

The motorcycle community joining together Saturday to raise money for Silva's medical expenses and to urge all drivers to be conscious of bikers on the road.

"When we're out on the roads man, we're everywhere guys, kinda keep your eyes open, look twice because it's hard to judge a motorcycle and how quick we're traveling, just keep your eyes open, that one single headlight, that's got someones entire life behind it," James Wright with "Look Twice Save Lives" Lubbock said.

All proceeds from the event are going toward Silva's family. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Fearless Performance posted this update on their Facebook page after the event:
