Winter Wonderland ice skating rink opens in the Depot District

Posted: Updated:

Dec.1 usually signals a chilly month ahead and we know of an even cooler place to spend your days.

A new ice skating rink -- Winter Wonderland -- debuts at The Garden bar in the Depot District.

Owners Mark and Jessica Martinez are hoping this will be the start of a new Christmas tradition in Lubbock.

"We really wanted to bring in something that the whole family can do and make memories during the holidays, and we hope to improve on it and get bigger and better every year and really make this a Christmas tradition here in Lubbock," Co-owner Jessica Martinez said.

The ice rink is open daily.
